There's a new store in town in Cranbrook.

Oast & Rye has opened a branch in the High Street.

The company was founded four years ago by Philippa MacKinnon, who guarantees all her products are made in Great Britain. Until now the business has operated solely online.

She said: "We are really excited to be opening our first shop in Cranbrook and joining the established retail outlets which are already trading on the picturesque High Street.

"Our new shop will give us the ideal opportunity to talk to our customers about the products we offer and will also make it easier for customers to smell our lovely fragrances which are available as room sprays, candles and diffusers.

"We also stock shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, hand creams and more.

"I would also like to collaborate with other like-minded businesses who are interested in taking space in our shop and whose products complement our own product range.”

The company is known for its sustainable credentials and all products are vegan friendly, reusable and refillable.

The packaging used by Oast & Rye is made with compostable starch that melts in water as well as shredded recycled paper.

Bottles and candles are designed to extend beyond single use, so refills are available.

The company sells products in different sizes and advocates that larger bottles not only last longer but have a lower carbon footprint.

The new shop is at 47 High Street, and will open 11am to 4pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and from 9am till noon on Saturday. Inquiries to 01892 351231.
