An overturned truck on Interstate 65 between Alford Avenue and Montgomery Highway has shut down the southbound lanes.

Hoover police and firefighters responded about 3:30 a.m. to a report that a box truck had overturned and lost its load on I-65, said Hoover police Capt. Keith Czeskleba.

No injuries were reported but the truck was carrying foam insulation which spilled onto the highway.

Hoover Fire Department and the Jefferson County EMA are on the scene to coordinate clean-up. The southbound lanes will be closed until the insulation has been removed.

Motorists are asked to seek an alternate route.
